Magda didn’t grow up cycling, and she admits she was a little apprehensive about trying a bike again. But thanks to the support of Connect Plymouth and the availability of Beryl electric bikes, she’s now confidently exploring the city on two wheels.
“The electric bike was marvellous, especially going up hills in Plymouth,” she says. “It increased my confidence tremendously in using any bike.”
Magda’s story is a powerful reminder that sustainable travel isn’t just about reducing emissions – it’s also about making active transport accessible, enjoyable, and empowering for everyone. With scenic views, the freedom to stop anywhere, and a boost from electric assistance, cycling has become a new way for Magda to connect with her city.
“I would encourage anybody to have a go.”
