Forest Rising Summer training program

Explore the lifecycle of a tree with us! From collecting seeds to caring for trees, designing wild spaces, and discovering ancient woodlands — you’ll get hands on experience and knowledge in nature conservation.

The Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest is excited to launch the first-ever Summer Holidays Forest Rising program with the Poole Farm team — it’s FREE for young people who want to get involved in conservation and tree care! 🌱
This series of workshops is designed by the Forest Rising Youth Forum and offers you a unique opportunity to explore the lifecycle of a tree — from a tiny seed to an ancient woodland. Get practical experience, learn from expert conservationists, and even design your own tree planting projects!

Thursday 7 August – Tool Handling and Tree IDing
Thursday 14 August – Tree Aftercare
Thursday 21 August – Woodland Management
Thursday 28 August – Ancient Woodlands and Veteran Trees
