Peat Bog Stories with Peat-Fest South-West
You are welcome to join the Dartmoor Young Rangers for a free day of bog lore and folk tales. This day is for young people over 12 years old
Peatlands have sparked our collective human imagination for millennia and Dartmoor is no exception. Folk tales seep out of the boggy ground, crystallising community relationships to the landscape and enriching our experiences of these ecosystems. But these stories are not just things of the past. They are living and breathing and soggy right alongside us today.
In this Peat Fest South-West workshop, join RE-PEAT to hear some old bogland folklore, and take inspiration from the natural world to create a brand new folk tale together. Together we will hear about the extraordinary ecology of peatlands and channel the magic of Dartmoor to unleash our creativity. This workshop is for anyone who wants to meet new people (and mythological creatures) and experience Dartmoor together in unexpected ways.
