Description
The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund is a partnership project between Plymouth City Council (PCC) and housing associations LiveWest and Plymouth Community Homes (PEC) to provide energy upgrades to 83 homes in two social housing schemes in Furse Park and Alcestor Close.
Almost £1 million in funding has been granted as part of the first wave of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund from the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy to improve the energy efficiency of these homes, increasing comfort and reducing both fuel bills and carbon emissions.
This project is an essential part of Plymouth’s work to achieve Net Zero by 2035 and increase the longevity of social housing in the city.
Measures to be installed by March 2023 include insulation, roof work and window replacements. There are also potential future opportunities such as connecting to district heating networks.
