The Bridging the Tamar Visitor and Learning Centre was set up in 2018 to celebrate the heritage and engineering of the Tamar and Royal Albert Bridges, and to provide educational opportunities for schools and local community groups.

About our climate journey

The Visitor and Learning Centre is part of Tamar Crossings, which has identified tackling climate change as one of its top priorities. “We recognise the Climate Emergency declared by the parent authorities, and we commit our support to their pledge to become carbon neutral by 2030.”

The Centre is committed to providing an enjoyable experience whilst minimising the environmental impact of our activities.

The Centre is on a bus route, and it is also a short walk over the Bridge from Saltash Railway Station. Beryl Bikes are available and the Visitor Centre is also part of the Tamara Coast to Coast Way. There are EV charging points available.

The Centre doesn’t use single use plastics, and Suez (the waste contractor) is Zero to Landfill.
Some of the Centre’s partners include Seadream, the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park, West Country Rivers Trust, Art and Energy, Blystra Arts.
