What we provide

Kurb are experts in decarbonisation planning. We help you calculate your footprint in line with best practice, and turn this data into a clear, actionable decarbonisation plan as you progress towards Net Zero. We consider where the greatest impact from operations is arising and use our To The Core framework to embed sustainability deep into your organisation, achieving genuine impact reduction across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.

Our climate services extend beyond the impact you have on the climate. We have developed an excellent suite of consultancy and tech tools to support with climate resilience and risk mitigation across the built estate, operations, and supply chain. We help you make the most of academic research, industry guidance and government data to identify, quantify and mitigate climate and sustainability related risks.

About our climate journey

Kurb are a microbusiness with a modest footprint, but we are still committed to limiting our climate impact as we grow. We know that our main emissions sources are the energy we use to deliver services, the equipment we purchase, and the travel we undertake. Our energy is delivered via a 100% renewable tariff to our home office, we purchase all furniture and IT equipment through refurbishment schemes, and we limit car travel wherever possible in favour of train journeys.

To support our clients and limit the impact of our consultancy services, we also calculate the footprint of every project we undertake so that we can work together with our clients to mitigate this impact as far as possible.

Biggest climate achievement to date

We recently delivered the Climate Action Plan for a 1,300-person legal firm turning over £150m+ every year. We were particularly proud of the innovative interventions that comprised this climate action plan, including downstream impact mitigation of legal advisory services, and carbon budgeting solutions being rolled out across the firm between now and 2030.

Most difficult climate challenge faced

Embedding sustainability deep into organisations requires fundamental changes to the way services and products are delivered, which very often presents conflict with traditional operations. Demonstrating the value of these changes, long-term to allow the necessary authority and resourcing to be allocated remains one of the fundamental challenges we help organisations address.
