Biggest climate achievement to date

Over the past year, Mole Energy has completed and commissioned its most complex and innovative renewable energy project to date, both in terms of capacity and technical ambition: a large scale floating solar array at Linhay Quarry, Devon, in partnership with EJW Glendinning. The project demonstrates how innovative thinking, site-specific design, and genuine collaboration can unlock clean energy solutions in a sector traditionally considered hard to decarbonise.
The completed system represents a step change in renewable generation for the site:
• Total installed capacity: 1,158 kWp (627.51 kWp rooftop + floating solar)
• Annual generation: Over 1.1 million kWh of clean electricity
• Energy coverage: Approximately 25% of the site’s total energy demand
• Operational benefits: Reduced grid reliance, lower exposure to energy price volatility, and improved long term cost certainty
• Reduce carbon emissions: Over 24 tonnes of CO2 saved per annum, which is the equivalent of taking 97,295 km off the road.
