Ocean City Influencers
Organisation Bio
The Ocean City Influencers are group of 10-17-year-olds from Plymouth's East End. These young people are developing a deep connection to the ocean and nature, building their understanding of environmentalism, ocean literacy, and climate justice. The OCI group uses digital creativity to amplify their voice and message, their programme supports creative ocean activism and climate justice campaign work with young people and aims to amplify youth voices within this space.
About our climate journey
OCI have been creating work and platforming Ocean Activism via their creativity since 2024. The group have taken part in beach cleans, connected with cultural organisations, institutions and experts in the marine and environmental sector to develop their understanding and learning about the ocean, climate and looking after the planet. The group have an Instagram and regularly share their creative work connected to making decisions and developing understanding around how to help the environment and be an ambassador for the planet. They have hosted an exhibition sharing their work and message, created a number of films to share their learning and developed Calls To Action with their community alongside international artists Owen Griffiths and Shaq Koyak.
