Primus Passus Consulting
Organisation Bio
We support organisations to improve operational performance while reducing waste, resource consumption, and environmental impact through structured, people-led management systems.
We work at the intersection of operational excellence and sustainability, helping organisations stabilise their operations, eliminate waste, and make better use of energy, materials, and human effort.
Our approach is grounded in structured performance systems such as SPQDCE (Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment), where environmental performance is not treated separately but embedded into daily management.
We believe that:
There is only one planet, and operational decisions matter
Waste in processes is also waste of energy and resources
Sustainable performance comes from engaged teams, not isolated initiatives
By improving flow, reliability, and problem-solving capability, we help organisations:
Reduce material and energy waste
Improve process efficiency and stability
Create working environments where teams can perform and leave work with a sense of achievement
Our work is practical, field-based, and focused on building long-term capability within teams.
Product/Services
What we provide
Primus Passus Consulting provides operational excellence and performance improvement services to manufacturing and industrial organisations, with a strong focus on reducing waste, improving flow, and embedding sustainable practices into daily operations.
The service is built around supporting managers and their teams to stabilise performance and develop long-term capability, rather than delivering one-off solutions.
What we do
We work directly with teams on site or remotely to:
Stabilise daily operations through structured management routines
Improve process flow to reduce delays, overproduction, and unnecessary movement
Reduce inventory levels by aligning production more closely to demand
Develop problem-solving capability to address root causes
Implement clear performance systems (SPQDCE), including environmental indicators
Strengthen equipment reliability and reduce resource losses
How this supports environmental impact
Our work reduces environmental impact by improving how operations function:
Less overproduction → less material and energy waste
Fewer defects → less rework and scrap
Better flow → reduced transport and handling
Lower inventory levels → reduced storage needs and associated energy use
In sectors such as food, this can mean less reliance on energy-intensive storage such as freezers or chilled stock
More reliable equipment → improved energy efficiency
Improved space utilisation → reduced need for warehouse expansion or additional buildings
In some cases, increased efficiency can even enable organisations to reduce their existing footprint rather than grow it
Clear visibility → better day-to-day decisions
Rather than treating sustainability as a separate service, it is embedded into all operational improvements.
What we bring to customers
A practical, field-based approach focused on real operations
Proven methods from Lean and reliability practices
Integration of performance and environmental impact into daily management
Development of internal capability so improvements are sustained over time
The objective is to help organisations move from reactive operations to stable, predictable performance, while reducing their use of resources, storage needs, and overall environmental footprint.
About our climate journey
Primus Passus Consulting has integrated environmental thinking into its way of working from the start, building on years of experience in operational environments where resource use, energy, and waste are directly influenced by daily decisions.
The approach combines two dimensions:
What we do internally
What we bring to customers
Internally, the focus has been on reducing the environmental footprint of how the business operates. With an international customer base, a key step has been increasing the use of remote support where appropriate. This reduces travel while maintaining value delivery, although adoption varies depending on customer context and maturity.
At the same time, there is a clear intention to develop a stronger local customer base, enabling more support to be delivered with reduced transportation.
With customers, the contribution is to embed environmental performance into operational systems, improving flow, reducing waste, and supporting better use of energy and materials through structured daily management.
Challenges have mainly been behavioural and cultural:
some customers are more accustomed to in-person support
environmental topics are not always prioritised in operational discussions
Where alignment is achieved, the wider benefits are visible:
reduced waste and resource consumption
more stable and efficient operations
stronger engagement from teams who see the purpose behind improvements
Looking ahead, the focus is to continue:
increasing remote delivery where it adds value
strengthening local presence
embedding environmental metrics more systematically into daily management with customers
