Description
The Plymouth and South Devon community forest is a partnership project that aims to plant over 500 hectares of new woodland by 2025 – that’s the same area as 19,000 tennis courts!
Whether you’re out foraging for blackberries in an edible hedgerow or listening to bird song under the security of an oak tree, we want to create a city where everyone has access to green spaces and takes pride in them.
Trees help us fight climate change by improving our air quality and absorbing pollution.
Planting more trees will also benefit your neighbourhood by:
- Helping prevent flooding and soil erosion by slowing water runoff
- Reducing noise pollution
- Slowing wind speed and cooling the air
- Providing a sense of place—the emotional meaning we attach to a place
