Organisation Bio

PEC has been working to alleviate fuel poverty and reduce our city's carbon emissions since 2013. We give local people ownership in positive climate solutions like clean renewable energy generation and zero carbon, affordable homes. We provide free energy advice for anyone struggling with their bills.

We are a community energy organisation and we operate over 30 community-owned solar installations across Plymouth, including our solar farm at Ernesettle, plus rooftop installations on schools and community buildings. We reinvest the income generated from our solar to help run our advice and support services.

We are a family of organisations made up of members who want a better future for our community and planet. We are a charity and a social enterprise, with a cooperative ethos. Plymouth Energy Community is our over-arching charitable organisation, responsible for most of our day to day activities. It is supported by PEC Renewables and PEC Homes.

What we provide

Everyone deserves to live in a warm and comfortable home. We provide help and advice to residents across Plymouth with all things energy - from bills and problems with suppliers, to insulation and solar panels.

Our Energy Advice service provide a range of support for anyone in Plymouth facing problems with their energy - including vulnerable customers, those in fuel poverty and anyone else who finds themselves in need of help.

Our Future Fit service advise anyone seeking to upgrade the energy efficiency of their home. We can help residents make a plan to retrofit their home, provide impartial advice and support with grant applications where applicable.

PEC Renewables also works with local organisations to manage community-owned solar installations on rooftops across the city.
